For the past 27 years, the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) has been bringing industry leaders together to raise funds for STARS Air Ambulance. This partnership has helped raise more than $17 million for STARS through the PSAC STARS & Spurs Gala. The PSAC STARS & Spurs Gala has helped ensure STARS continues to be there for the next patient in need.
Due to COVID-19, the traditional gala format was not feasible this year but the commitment from PSAC to support STARS remains the same. In an initiative to raise the same level of funds to support the essential STARS services, the PSAC STARS & Spurs Gala was split into three equally essential activities over 2021, with a theme of Canadian values shared by our energy industry and STARS – an identity supporting the collective good from our hearts.
“The ‘essential Canadian’ theme this year is more relevant than ever – through this COVID-19 pandemic Canadians are realizing that their supply decisions matter,” said Dave McHattie, chair of the PSAC STARS Gala Committee, vice-chair of PSAC, and vice-president institutional relations for Tenaris Canada. “Supporting local Canadian service, supply and manufacturing sustains our economy. Sharing our energy with the world through exports provides a positive impact at home and abroad. Supporting STARS essential service illustrates the value PSAC members place on safety and medical response for our industry, our communities and our employees.”
The final portion of the PSAC STARS & Spurs campaign, the PSAC STARS & Spurs Exclusive Live Industry Auction will occur virtually on June 10, 2021 and will include recognition of all PSAC STARS & Spurs Safe@Home Gala Campaign sponsors, the announcement of the winning 50/50 lottery ticket, and a final fundraising tally.
Proudly co-presented by Bennett Jones and Di-Corp, the PSAC STARS & Spurs industry Live Auction event will be exclusive to PSAC member donors, sponsors, and Canada’s leading oil and gas company buyers to raise funds in support of STARS.
The PSAC STARS & Spurs Industry Live Auction has had strong support from PSAC members and supporters. We are grateful for the continued support of the auction donors in 2021 including 360 Energy Liability Management, Advantage Ford, Bonanza Drilling, Databrick, Ferus, Lamborghini Calgary, Liberty Oilfield Services, NOV, Precision Drilling, Schlumberger, STEP Energy, Tenaris, and Trican. PSAC STARS & Spurs Campaign Virtual Live Auction co-sponsors – Bennett Jones & Di-Corp
At first glance it may not seem that Bennett Jones and Di-Corp would have much in common. The former is a leading legal services firm with 500 lawyers and advisors in six offices across Canada and the United States, and the latter a leading manufacturer and distributor of specialty chemicals, parts and accessories serving the energy, mining, and drilling industries. But look deeper and you’ll see they share much in common – from their dedication to delivering an outstanding client experience, to their investment in technology and innovation to optimize their respective industries.
As companies who have each navigated many decades in business, they also share an unwavering belief in being true, active members in the communities where they live and operate. Healthy communities are foundational for business longevity, contributing to strong client relationships and active, innovative workforces. That is why both Di-Corp and Bennett Jones have individually been long-time supporters of the PSAC STARS and Spurs fundraising initiatives and events. And that dedication to communities is why they have joined forces this year to co-sponsor the PSAC STARS and Spurs 2021 Virtual Live Industry Auction.
