
Gurpreet Lail has been named president and chief executive officer of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada.
Her appointment is effective June 28, 2021.
Lail assumes the position from Elizabeth Aquin who held the interim position since Gary Mar stepped down in March 2020.
January McKee, PSAC board chair and president said Lail is an extremely capable and competent and the right leader for PSAC.
“Gurpreet is authentic and genuine in her desire to support a thriving Canadian energy sector,” she said. “She is a creative change agent and we look forward to her leadership as we navigate a transformational period for our energy industry and the role PSAC will play contributing to the development of all sources of Canadian energy.”
Lail has worked for more than 20 years in policy accomplishments and government advocacy across Western Canada and at national levels from progressive roles at the Fraser Institute and the Manning Center, and as executive director of Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society.
Most recently she was president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Calgary.
