PSAC/STARS – Northern Lights Sponsors

Hard times hasn’t lessened community support – PSAC STARS & Spurs Gala

The Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) has been committed to raising funds for over 27 years for the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) through its annual PSAC STARS & Spurs Gala event.

With the COVID-19 pandemic restricting face-to-face events, the 2021 gala volunteer organizing committee did a quick turn-around and came up with a three-phase program including: an on-line Safe@Home Gala hosted in February; a spring wrap up with a 50/50 lottery; and a Live Industry Auction.

PSAC’s annual goal remained the same, to raise $1 million over the three event phases. The first step was to send out a call for sponsorship. With the generous support from the oil and gas industry and other organizations, one-third of the financial goal was reached from the February 27 Safe@Home Gala.

PSAC would like to thank their Northern Lights Sponsors for their support.

Advantage Ford

In a medical emergency, minutes can mean the difference between life and death.  Every second counts and that’s why STARS is so vital to our community.  We live in a vast province where countless numbers of Albertans travel great distances every day getting to and from work, or they live in remote and sometimes isolated communities with limited emergency medical services. Knowing that STARS is just a quick call away provides great comfort.

Advantage Ford has a long history of supporting first responders like STARS. From high-speed interceptors to secure paddy wagons, Ford vehicles have been a police mainstay for generations. Advantage Ford’s commitment to STARS has totalled more than $200K.

“It has been our privilege to donate high-end vehicles for the STARS & Boots live auction including a silver edition F-150 Raptor for the 25th anniversary event,” says Cailean Wood, dealer, Advantage Ford.  “We also want to applaud the efforts of PSAC, Alberta’s oil and gas industry and all the STARS & SPURS volunteers for your on-going support of PSAC STARS & Spurs Gala, especially during these challenging times.”

Safety on the road is a priority and Advantage Ford is also proud to supply STARS with their community events and “daily driver” vehicles for more than five years.

Grant Production Testing Services

Grant Production Testing is once again proud to sponsor the PSAC STARS & Spurs Gala and will continue to do so in the future. Grant PTS has been in business for over 20 years now and we understand the importance of having essential services such as STARS and the importance of loyalty to a deserving Foundation. Not only to ensure the safety of our remote location workers but to ensure the safety of all residents of the western provinces that STARS is located in.

Grant Production Testing was founded in March 2001 in Calgary by Grant Stevens. Stevens, having grown up in the oil and gas Industry, wanted nothing more than to build a company that would stand out from the competition. Built on hard work, long days and dedication to stand above, 20 years strong Grant PTS is definitely still the leader in the well testing industry. With safety, teamwork and accountability being a few of our core values, it comes a little easier for us because of our dedicated staff both in the field and in the office.

Thank you STARS for continuing to keep us safe!

NOV Canada ULC

As one of STARS’s longest standing supporters, NOV is proud to sponsor this year’s PSAC STARS & Spurs Gala, which helps ensure continued access to reliable, around-the-clock medical services across the region. At NOV, we place great value in community involvement, and this event highlights the importance of organizations coming together with the common goal of creating a safer environment for both industrial operations and the surrounding communities.

“STARS is an integral part of the industry in which NOV employees work. As an oilfield service company, we operate in the same harsh, unforgiving climate and challenging terrain, so we understand and appreciate the STARS team’s service for western Canada,” states Tom Hewitt, senior operations director, Canada.

“Over the past 30 years, NOV has remained committed to the support of STARS through donations towards sustaining operations, new aircraft, and the establishment of the STARS Legacy Fund.”

With the nature of our industry, NOV operations often comprise responsibilities and tasks that place our workforce in hazardous situations. The knowledge that expeditious access to professional medical services is available 24/7 provides our teams with peace of mind throughout their workday. We look forward to growing our relationship with STARS, and we’re honored to have a hand in their continued success.

Our focus on safety spans our manufacturing of OCTG and line pipe to the field where our logistics and field services personnel interact with our customers throughout western Canada.”

Tenaris has customers, employees and community stakeholders who depend on Canada’s essential energy industry, supported by its manufacturing and service network. Tenaris understands that the need for essential businesses like medical services and energy in Canada will continue. That’s why Tenaris moved forward with its ongoing $117 million investment in its Canadian manufacturing operations and its support of STARS essential medical service because it believes in the future of the Canadian industry.
