A new ESG-focused emissions management course will prepare attendees to meet current industry requirements.
With the heightened emphasis on ESG and the financial investment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, oil and gas companies are required to improve their internal and corporate technical standards, says course instructor Gobind Khaini, president of GAPV Inc., a valve service consulting provider.
“There are always issues with installation and maintenance. Troubleshooting these issues are not learned in a book always,” said Khaini. “You learn from experience. I would like to share this and make sure that every minute spent of the participants’ time is well paid for in terms of the knowledge they will learn.”
Emissions Management: Applicable Codes, Standards and Practices on June 3 will provide guidance on understanding the applicable codes and standards governing emissions testing and management in north America with focus on the Western Canadian energy patch. Participants will also learn best practices for achieving emissions management goals.
After the course, attendees will be well quipped to read and write internal corporate technical standards, review design on emission reduction requirements, and provide value-engineering solutions tailored to individual plants, facilities, pipelines, tank farms or compressor station networks.
The course will directly focus on the ESG of today’s requirements towards the emissions management along with the applicable codes, regulations, standards and practices.
It includes a history of emissions, current industrial practices and implementation, the types of oil and gas equipment affected, recommended process improvements and best available technologies for improvement.
The course is intended for equipment operators, contractors and professionals with or without technical or engineering backgrounds including upstream and midstream engineering professionals and those who are interested in expanding their understanding of leak, detection and repair, Environmental Protection Agency, Alberta Energy Regulator and Canadian Energy Regulator requirements and testing procedures, and equipment used in mitigating emissions.
