Encana says it is shifting its executive team using its “deep bench” of talent.
Chief operating officer Michael McAllister has been appointed president, reporting to Doug Suttles, who will continue in his role as CEO, the company said on Sep. 10.
McAllister has worked for Encana and its predecessor firms for nearly 20 years. The company said he has been “instrumental in leading the company's transformation to a top-tier, liquids-focused North American producer.”
In his new role as president, McAllister will assume leadership responsibilities for operations, exploration and land, marketing and midstream, and corporate services.
Taking over the chief operating officer role is Greg Givens, who joined Encana in 2018 and previously served as vice-president and general manager of Texas operations.
The company has also appointed Brendan McCracken its executive vice-president, corporate development and external affairs. McCracken has been with the company for 21 years, most recently serving as vice-president and general manager of Canadian operations.
