​Canadian delegation headed to Tokyo to share LNG opportunities

A delegation of industry, government and community leaders from Canada will be in Tokyo later this month to hold a special briefing with business and government officials about Asian import and investment opportunities in Canada’s emerging LNG sector.

The free event on September 27 will be held at the Embassy of Canada to Japan in Minato City.

Speakers will focus on the compelling economics of Canada’s LNG infrastructure projects and supply agreements, as well as the role of Canadian LNG in meeting global climate policy objectives and reducing CO2 emissions.

“Demand in Asia for natural gas is forecast to rise dramatically,” said Dan Allan, CEO of the Canadian Society for Unconventional Resources, one of 15 speakers at the LNG Form.

“Japan and Korea are the region’s largest importers of LNG, and supplies to China are predicted to soar over the next 20 years. Canadian gas producers are excited to supply Asian markets and LNG is a vital opportunity for Canada’s energy sector.”
