A new video from Canada Action seeks to elevate Canada’s oil and gas industry above the shouting of “finger-pointing, hypocritical, anti-everything protesters” and highlight its commitment to solutions for environmental issues.
The two-minute piece says Canada is “done apologizing for the jobs we create, the schools we build and the families we support, because real leader know success comes from doing what’s right, not doing what a rich actor tells us or what looks good online.”
It notes that Canada implemented carbon pricing initiatives in 2007, shrunk GHG emissions per barrel by 30 percent and invested more than 45 billion in renewable energy projects over the past five years.
Led by Calgary realtor Cody Battershill, Canada Action is described as an entirely volunteer-created grassroots movement encouraging Canadians to take action and work together in support of our vital natural resources sector. It is the force behind numerous pro-oil and gas rallies in Alberta and across Canada in recent years.
“A future in energy and a future in the environment are not mutually exclusive,” the new video says.
“This is a battle between those who blame and those who solve; those who yell and those who act; those who work together and those who tear apart.”
