Producers had 234 drilling rigs at work on Thursday afternoon (38 per cent of the fleet was active), down slightly from 237 active rigs at the close of last week (39 per cent active).
For the same week a year ago, 227 rigs were at work (36 per cent of the fleet was active).
Crescent Point was the top driller across the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin on Thursday afternoon, with 16 active rigs, followed closely by Canadian Natural with 15.
Active rigs on the Rig Locator website are defined as rigs that are drilling, rigging up or moving.
