Arundo Analytics is expanding its presence in Calgary with a focus on serving oil and gas and other industrial companies in digital transformation and advanced analytics efforts.
“Given our heritage, focus and experience in the global oil and gas industry, Calgary is a natural extension of our North American presence,” Piers Wells, VP North America Sales, Arundo Analytics, said in a statement. “Calgary represents a significant concentration of the largest energy companies in Canada. With this new office, we are excited to be better positioned to serve them.”
According to Calgary Economic Development, a not-for-profit corporation funded by the City of Calgary, two thirds of the city's 124 head offices are held by major upstream, downstream and midstream companies.
Since March, Arundo has announced several major global partnerships with companies serving the subsea, energy and asset-heavy sectors, including Acteon Group, ABB and WorleyParsons. Arundo will look to add to its growing roster of partnerships from its new Calgary presence, the company said.
Arundo’s expansion to Calgary also comes amid significant personnel growth: a 46 per cent increase in global headcount since the company’s Series A $25 million funding round in January of this year.
With offices in Oslo, Houston and Silicon Valley, Arundo Analytics provides cloud-based and edge-enabled software for the deployment and management of enterprise-scale industrial analytics applications. Arundo's software connects industrial data to advanced models and model insights to business decisions.
In 2016, Arundo graduated from Stanford University’s StartX accelerator program, and subsequently received investment from the Stanford-StartX Fund. In 2017, Arundo was named to the MIT STEX25 by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Startup Exchange.
